American Muslims Preparing a Quilt To Remember September 11
I think someone we should all email these people and ask them to build a quilt to remember the 20000 Muslims killed in Afghanistan and the 1million children killed in Iraq.

American Muslims Preparing a Quilt To Remember September 11

http://www.islamonline.net/english/...article01.shtml

LOS ANGELES, August 27 (IslamOnline & News Agencies) - The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) in the U.S. is sponsoring a quilt-making project in memorandum of the victims of September 11, a press release from the organization said.

Volunteers from the Muslim community will be sewing together quilt pieces with the names of the victims of September 11 inscribed upon them. The quilt will be presented on September 11, 2002, at Ground Zero, the statement said adding that scores of Muslims have volunteered to work on the project to express their Muslim community's condolences over last year's tragedy.

The first presentation of the completed quilt will be at the Islamic Center of Southern California on September 8, 2002, during MPAC's community recognition awards, which will honor various elected officials and community leaders for their exemplary efforts after September 11, said the release.

On it’s site MPAC commented on remember the September 11 attacks and said that “it was the most painful event ever experienced in the modern history of our nation.”

“We will never forget the victims, nor will we diminish our resolve to work in full partnership to protect our country together with all who cherish and appreciate freedom, decency and the value of human life,” the organization said.

It said that Muslims should memorialize the victims by keeping their souls and their families in their prayers and that they condemn the outrage of loss of human life and will continue to highlight the Islamic teachings that honor human life, preaches peace and harmony within the human family, and stand upright for freedom of religion and dignity of all human beings.

”We consider ourselves partners with law enforcement, interfaith groups and civil society groups to keep our country safe and the rights of all citizens protected. Extremism is an aberration in all religious groups, as it leads to the exploitation of religion and to self-destruction,” it said.

MPAC said that in Islam the concept of Jihad is broad and noble concept to reconcile life to the spiritual model.

“It starts within ones self for purification, extends to intellectual endeavors of productive discourse using wisdom, kindness and preaching, to spending resources equitably and justly way to help the disadvantaged, to fighting as a last and hated resort against oppressors who use force to compel people to leave their religion or drive them out of their homes,” it said.

It also said that the “practices of so-called Muslim governments do not represent Islam, they represent dictatorship” and that “the guidance of Islam on governments is the same as the principles and mechanics that govern democracy.”

MPAC, according to their website, was founded in 1988 as a non-profit social welfare organization. It is a public service agency working for the civil rights of American Muslims, for the integration of Islam into American pluralism, and for a positive, constructive relationship between American Muslims and their representatives.

Another Muslim organization, the Washington based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) published a report last week saying that nearly 57 percent of American Muslims polled by them, say they have experienced bias or discrimination since the deadly September 11 attacks and 87 percent say know of a fellow Muslim who experienced discrimination.

On the other hand the poll said that more than three-in-four American Muslims (79 percent) also experienced kindness or support from friends or colleagues of other faiths.

That kindness often took the form of verbal reassurances, support during the anti-Muslim backlash following the attacks and even offers to help guard local mosques, said the report published Wednesday, August 21, on CAIR’s website.

The most frequent forms of bias experienced by the respondents were verbal abuse, religious or ethnic profiling and workplace discrimination.

The poll also showed 48 percent of the respondents saying that their lives changed for the worse in the year following the attacks and the 16 percent who said their lives changed for the better often cited a deepened knowledge of Islam made necessary by requests to explain their faith to others.

The report said that nearly 67 percent of respondents said the media have grown more biased against Islam and Muslims and 45 percent of respondents said that Fox was the most biased and that PBS, BBC and ABC were worthy of praise for their coverage.

There are an estimated seven million Muslims in America and some 1.2 billion worldwide. Islam is one of the fastest growing religions in America.

The Kuffar don't need to use the media to attempt to ridicule the Muslims when these "fly the flag" type do such a good job of embarrasing themselves.

As Shaykh Usamah said:

"Those who speak about the "innocents" in America have not
tasted the emotions of loosing children...They have never
tasted the feeling of looking at disabled bodies of children
in Palestine and elsewhere...after all this, these pathetic
people pretend to cry over the killings of the Americans and
cannot be bothered to cry over the death of our children"

"Pathetic people"!!! Nice one Masha'Allah!!!
Sums up this little sewing crew perfectly!

why is cair only cries when innocent kafirs die, but never when innocent muslims die? you should cry for both, and also cry for muslims first and the most. feel sad for kafirs 2nd and less than the sadness you feel for muslims.

Salam Aleikum

I thing the idea of a quilt is an excellet idea as long as the quilt in hung on the flag poles of the white house and the former wtc site and the quilt says the following

" There is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is the last and final messenger of Allah"

And check this out, their having a little memorial for the 9-11 victims!

Future Pathetic Boot-Licking Events

MPAC to Hold a Memorial for September 11th Victims
Islamic Center of Southern CA, Los Angeles
9/8/2002 @ 11: 00 AM
The Muslim Public Affairs Council, The Minaret magazine and the Islamic Center of Southern California will be holding a community event in memory of the victims of the September 11th attacks on America on Sunday, September 8th at the ICSC located at 434 South Vermont in Los Angeles.

For more information, please call MPAC at (213) 383-3443
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
They make me sick! What about the dead in Afghanistan?
What about our dead in Sheeshan?
What about our sisters raped in Kashmir?
What about the unarmed Muslim brother shot dead in Bosnia by the UN "peace-keeping" forces?
What about the 1,000,000 dead Iraqi babies?
What about the small children killed in Filistine?
What about the burnt corpses of our fellow Muslims in Gujurat?

And the list is incomplete!

Anas (RA) related "The Prophet said, "You will be with those whom you love." We had never been so glad as we were on hearing that saying of the Prophet (i.e., "You will be with those whom you love.") Therefore, I love the Prophet , Abu Bakr and 'Umar, and I hope that I will be with them because of my love for them though my deeds are not similar to theirs."

And I hope that these "patriotic" American Muslims are raised with the ones they love too! Ameen!

wa-salaam,
UmmKhubayb.

I just reviewed a most sickening and digusting program itinerary for ISNA's annual conference. The details are at:

http://isna.net/convention/program/friday.htm

Absolutely shell-shocked. How low can they go? Is it possible to make your head go lower than the boot of your master which you grovel at?

I pray that Allah deprives these organizations of their greatest strength: the shabaab.

Without such a source, these organizations dry up, and die. They'll have no one to take control of their affairs after they become old and fall into their graves.

SubhanAllah ta'ala, mockery gets them nowhere. Ultimate backlash is from Allah azza wa jal. When I see this I remember how much the people of Nooh (alayhi was salam) mocked as he was building the ark.

SubhanAllah ta'ala, let them mock, deen is our ark and they are the ones who shall be drowned.

Was salam.

Last year in April or late March, I met a friendof mine after mnay months, who was very much inspired by Salafi Dawah and he asked me to go to a Salafi mosque. I refused but then he urges and I said yes. After 2 or 3 days later he and I met with the Sheikh of the mosque and I asked him many question regarding Taqleed, Bidah, Shirk, filthy Sufism and all the quetions that can I ask. That nice Sheikh gave answers and satisfied me. I accepted the Salafi Dawah (Alhmudulilah). After few months I left my beared to grow and started reading books related to pure Islam. That is Allah Almighty who gave me knowledge to choose what is right. Indeed he is GREATEST OF ALL.

A interesting question...i hope other knowledable brothers answer;

I will only give three or four points that might help, for those are the main ones that i have seen to make you reach the everso eternal heaven;

>Fear allah. When you talk, when you write, when you glance, when you think, when you dream, when you are typing, when you are listening, when you are travelling and so on. One needs to remember and to fear allah. If you remember allah, then you become a person of taqwa and either there is good or bad. And Allah is upon the good with his ultimate mercy and the path of evil is controlled and given by shaytaan. So brother, when one is not remembering allah, then...the path is going to be evil, and your action will go towards evil. On the other hand, if one remembers allah, all the time, they will be performing good and gaining rewards to enter this jannah.

>Speak good. The art of speaking that, most need to control and use. As one brother said the other day, what is the most powerfu weapon in the world,? it is a word, for the army leader says 'attack' and it destroys one country. So your words should be good and always helping yourself or friends. As the blessed prophet said ; Speak good or keep silent, and those who remain silent remain safe' such words, makes one cry. So always speak good.

> Wisdom. One thing most of us, incl me lack. Such a tool, which brings people to islam. If one can explain and use wisdom when in islam, the results are so many, and more than you expected. You should always use wisdom in talking to people. You cant give a same answer to everyone. Some need more of it, others need to be drip feeden, some need to be opened. SO use wisdom...in all your works.

A little advicve i have given, i hope i act uppon the above, and most importantly, the one thing that will help any youth is to find a scholar, who you trust, and always ask him, and take from him..

BinZiad

The term "religious" I don't really like to use for it is Allah who knows what is in our hearts, but rather we can say that we strive to practise this Deen of Allah (swt).
